Patrons rave about their perfectly crunchy exterior and fluffy interior, making them a favorite side to any main dish. The freshness of the fish stands out as well; many have commented on the superb quality and moisture of the Warehou fillet, proving that this place takes pride in sourcing its ingredients.
Another crowd-pleaser is the corn fritter, often described as a unique twist on classic flavors. The herb-infused mashed potato base blends beautifully with the corn's sweetness, creating a dish that's both comforting and satisfying. The overall value for money with generous portion sizes keeps customers returning for more.
Parking can become a bit tricky during peak hours. On busy Friday and Saturday nights, customers may find themselves needing to park a bit further down the street, which can be inconvenient for those looking to quickly grab their food. While overall service is quick, some customers noted that waiting times can vary depending on busy periods, especially if you visit without a reservation.
A few diners mentioned that the outside of the corn fritter could be cooked a bit less, as it sometimes overtakes the texture of the filling. This feedback is valuable for refining their beloved dish further. Overall, while there are minor drawbacks, the positives significantly outweigh them.
Best homemade chips we have ever had. From out of town. Phone order, super quick and fish, fish burger and especially the homemade chips were the highest quality. Could tell The Chippy had a loyal and regular customer base as heaps of Happy New Years and general chat on collection of people’s dinner. Must try!!!
IG: 2Fish1Chip Order: Fish & Chips, Corn Fritter, Hotdog. Cost: $19.20 Fish (Warehou) had a good golden sheen and a nice crunchy bite to it. Didn’t hold too much oil which is always good. Possibly allowing it to hang sufficiently before packing it up. The flesh was white and fresh to the bite. Of note was a distinct moisture to the fillet which only made the texture super flaky. The level of flakiness was more than I would expect from Warehou. It felt like it was a whole lot of smaller piece blended together to make a fillet. The Homemade (hand cut) chips were beautiful! Generous in portion with classic contrasting textures of the crunchy exterior and pillowy inside. CCT approved! The corn fritter from here follows the beautiful herb infused mashed potato template which is gold! The let down here was that the outside was cooked a tad longer which meant the overly crunchy skin over powered the contents. That level of being cooked would suit a thicker fritter. The thickness allows time for you to enjoy the crunch then the lovely corn and mash that lies beneath. I didn’t notice it till later, but they offer a larger sized fillet which peaked my interest. At twice the price of a normal fillet, it would be worth a crack I guess. Overall pretty decent goods from the peeps at Wadestown Seafoods! Thanks team.
Incredible takeaway fish & chips. Their menu includes a lot more than that but the fish is the real highlight here. Good prices and big portions.
Fish was delicious and you could tell it was fresh. Loved the homemade chips, they were a bit dry but that was probably because I was late to pick them up. Parking is scarce, so you might have to park down the road on a busy Friday/Saturday night. Also the potato fritter was a literal 10/10, probably the best I’ve ever had.
Fresh fish literally being delivered to the shop as we arrived! Partner and I got a piece of grilled and battered fish with chips. Chips were crazy good! And the fish delicious.

Consistent. Favourite is the ‘handcut chips’. Food always well cooked and fresh fish. :-)
Absolutely try their homemade chips and the battered Warehou fish. The fillet fish is also highly recommended, particularly in a burger.
